JO ANN FARRIS GARZEE

Jo Ann Farris Garzee, daughter of Virgil and Zelda Alath Coday Henry, was born August 31, 1956 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on March 29, 2017 at her home in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of sixty years, six months and twenty-eight days.

On December 9, 1977 she was united in marriage to Michael Farris, and to this union five children were born.  Michael preceded her in death on July 31, 1989.  In 2004, she married Richard Garzee and he preceded her in death in 2009.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, granddaughter, Kelsie Stacy, brothers, Don Goss and Darrell Henry, niece, Carol Henry, nephew, Mike Henry, two sisters-in-law, Carol Henry and Sherry Stout.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Kimberly Cantrell of Seymour, Missouri, Marcus Farris and wife, Janie, Melissa Farris, Jason Farris and Jennifer Farris all of Mansfield, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Nathan Henry, Miranda Cantrell, Zachary Cantrell, Justice Willis, Alex Farris, Alexis Farris, Michael Phillips, Hailey Stacy, Avery Henry, Nieasha Hammond, Trey Hammond, and Taron Hammond; three great-grandchildren, Brantley Henry, Kelby Reeves and Scarlet Willis; two sisters, Barbara Goss and Linda Lansdown; five brothers, Charles Goss, Jerry Henry, Jack Henry, Robert Henry and Ronnie Henry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was born, raised and lived most of her life in Mansfield.  She had worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory and worked as a waitress for most of her adult years.

In 2016, Jo Ann was saved at the Mansfield First Baptist Church.

In her spare time, she enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores, playing rummy and loved to dance.  Her most important goal in life was being sure her kids and grandkids were taken care of.  She did without many things in her life to be sure everyone else had what they needed.

Jo Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate her life and will always remember the sacrifices she made for our family.
